Smt. Subhasree Majumdar embarked on this noble journey with a profound mission—to impart the timeless wisdom of Indian Classical Music to young minds blossoming in the Western world. However, her commitment goes beyond geographical boundaries, as her students range from eager kindergarteners to seasoned senior citizens.

With boundless enthusiasm and unwavering dedication, Smt. Subhasree Majumdar extends her musical wisdom to all who are devoted patrons of Indian Classical Music. Her journey is a testament to the universality of music and the joy it brings to hearts of all ages and backgrounds. 

Smt. Subhasree Majumdar's remarkable musical journey is deeply rooted in her upbringing and family heritage. Her journey commenced at the tender age of four, under the guidance of her first guru, her grandmother, the late Smt. Kana Dutta.

At the tender age of eight, Smt. Subhasree Majumdar embarked on her formal musical training, marking a significant milestone in her journey. Her musical odyssey was further enriched by the invaluable guidance of gurus who were direct disciples of illustrious maestros.

Among her mentors were the disciples of Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan, the legendary Indian classical vocalist. Their tutelage undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for her musical prowess. Additionally, she had the privilege of learning from guru’s who were direct disciples of Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay, a distinguished figure in the world of Indian music, and also from the renowned Begum Akhtar ji, whose contribution to ghazals and thumris is unparalleled.

Her musical education spans over 12 years of intensive training in Hindustani classical music, complemented by an additional 7 years of dedicated study in semi-classical music and the intricate world of ragasrayee bangla gaan. Her training carries the rich traditions of both the Patiala Gharana and the Kirana Gharana, two of the most esteemed and influential schools of Indian classical music.Through years of hard work she has achieved the title of Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.

Smt. Subhasree Majumdar's dedication to music is complemented by her multifaceted talents and accomplishments. In addition to her musical pursuits, she has achieved recognition as a registered examiner and teacher under Akhil Bharatya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, further demonstrating her commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
